Coworker mini-rant:

Um, what part of me sitting on the phone talking business with a potential patient makes it okay to use the pencil sharpener right by my head? Hm? Who exactly thinks that's a good time to use it?

Oh, right, the person complaining about how few new patients we have! Right!

She also later tried to talk to me while I was on the phone with another prospective patient. AND SHE'S A 50-SOMETHING SCHOOL TEACHER WHEN SHE'S NOT WITH US.


I'm the receptionist at a behavioral optometry private practice :) Patients are normal eye exams as well as vision therapy candidates (it fixes stuff like nystagmus and lazy eye).

Well :/ Some people never really grow up past 15-18. So she probably thinks it's a great idea. I have no idea. Some behaviors people just don't grow out of. Some people aren't aware of others at all.

Which sounds like what this is. Or the "I'm bored so let me annoy the shit out of you" mindset.
