More Eliza progress pictures - I'm mostly finished the vest now except for some touch-up painting and stuf.

I fixed how it's falling. :) And interfaced the front.

It doesn't look nearly this wrinkly on - the dress form isn't really my size. At all.

Thanks for everybody who offered suggestions :D

off topic but what time will the nyc picnic end?

Hello,
I can't send you a private message, I guess you have it disabled. I have a question about the NYC Picnic. I am not sure if I can make it to the picnic because I have martial arts class until 2 pm. I'd normally skip class for a steampunk event but it will be one of my last classes before ankle surgery so I want to get in as much training as possible before I'm laid up for a few months. So, if I dash home and change as quickly as possible, I don't think I'd make it to the park before 3:30. Do you think you'll still be there picnicking? If so, I'd love to come and would bring my famous vegetarian chopped liver and crackers.
Let me know, thanks.
Mlle. Violet

We'll definitely be there past 3:30 :) I'm guessing we won't actually start moving to the park until 2:30 at the latest (allowing time for people to arrive), and then with setting up... :)

Besides, [info]liu_xing like to talk so much that I bet the picnic will last easily beyond 4:30-ish.

So you don't have to wander around aimlessly, would you like to exchange cell-phone numbers? Email me at caitlinstarling at hotmail dot com. :D

We look forward to having you!

Nice! I also see your work area looks a bit like mine, stacks of books, piles of fabric, and a nest of Amazon boxes breeding in the background.

Dress forms are never anyone's size. I got one from the thrift store that I've been intending to draft a me-sized cover for and stuff the boobs with quilt batting but I've never gotten around to it so I can't use it at all for fitting or draping.

Thank you!

Those darn Amazon boxes... why can't they at least be as cute as tribbles? :)

I mostly just use mine to hang up things like this (this would quickly become a wrinkled mess on the ground, and my cat would go to town on it), to take pictures, and to let knits/bias-cut garments fall a bit. It IS useful to give me an idea of the full composition coming together, though :)

Thank you! I try. :)

Sorry Embla didn't work out, again. We have to hang out at Ota, though, still!
